Chalet contemporain en ossature bois et pierre naturelle de 141 m2 à Saint-Gervais avec balcon et abri voiture par Vision Bois

Contemporary timber and stone chalet in Saint-Gervais (74)

CONTEMPORARY TIMBER AND STONE CHALET IN SAINT-GERVAIS (74)

Set on the heights of Saint-Gervais-les-Bains in Haute-Savoie, facing an exceptional alpine panorama, this 141 sq m custom timber chalet showcases Vision Bois' proven expertise in bespoke mountain architecture.

Engineered to fit the natural slope of the terrain, the home sits on a partially habitable walkout basement hosting an independent studio apartment, ideal for welcoming guests or seasonal holiday rentals.

The lower masonry level is finished with authentic local stone facing, creating a solid mineral foundation reminiscent of traditional Savoyard chalets, while contrasting elegantly with the clean lines of the upper timber frame.

A luminous and sheltered architectural design

The main entrance is accessed via a generous sheltered porch connected to a custom integrated carport beneath the main roofline, highlighting exposed glued-laminated timber beams.

Inside, the open-plan layout creates a remarkable sense of light and space:

  • Exposed structural glulam timbers bringing warmth and authentic mountain atmosphere to the living room.
  • An open mezzanine above the lounge, providing double-height ceilings and a versatile area for a home office or relaxation lounge.
  • An expansive living room opening onto a cantilevered viewing balcony supported by timber braces, framing panoramic mountain vistas.

Year-round comfort and high thermal efficiency

Like every Vision Bois project, four-season comfort and energy performance are central:

  • Architectural joinery: High-performance Pierret sliding doors and windows with factory-fitted triple glazing and anthracite frames matching the roof trim.
  • Thermal envelope: Highly insulated timber shell paired with an energy-efficient heat pump system.
  • Complete legal protection: Built under the comprehensive French CCMI building contract with structural damage insurance and zero anonymous subcontracting, crafted by the Tout Habitat cooperative.

Architect: Vessela Georges from Cabinet Tangentes. Cabinet Tangentes.
